We are looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our team, to play a central part in the continued development and success of our Geriatric services at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. We are one of the largest teaching hospital trusts in the UK, linked to one of the most successful Universities in the UK, namely Warwick. The Trust has an integrated approach for the care of older people and is committed to working with its partner organisations to deliver coordinated streamlined care for older people.

When appointed, you will become part of new innovative developments in the provision of care for older people in Coventry and Warwickshire. This is an exciting time particularly as you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering our Perioperative surgical liaison services.

Our department strategy is to further expand our services and we are pursuing plans to develop a range of other innovative healthcare models and pathways across Coventry and Warwickshire which will offer further exciting opportunities in the following areas:

• Orthogeriatric services
• Perioperative surgical liaison
• Acute frailty services
• Seven day subspecialty service for acutely ill older people
• Community services

You will have opportunities to take a leading role in helping to develop these initiatives and drive changes in the management of older people across the health economy.

In addition, there will be extensive opportunities for teaching and academic collaboration through our partnership with Warwick Medical School. As a member of our team, there will be an expectation of participation in both undergraduate and postgraduate education on a regular basis, CPD, audit and the clinical governance and management activities of the department.

On appointment, you will become part of a strong and dedicated team providing care to patients in Coventry and Rugby. Services currently provided by the department include Orthogeriatric liaison, Acute Geriatric Medicine, Falls and Rehabilitation and an award winning Dementia service.

The post attracts 10PAs plus per week, subject to discussions and offers a rewarding prospect of a challenging yet enjoyable career in Geriatric Medicine in a delightful part of the country.

To help encourage applicants to join the Trust, we are now offering a recruitment and retention incentive of £5000 on appointment and an additional £10,000 after completion of 3 years in the Trust.
