Managing Complexity and Uncertainty - Medicine for Older People Conference
RCPE Symposium Edinburgh

Date: Wednesday, 21 March 2018

For the 2018 Medicine for Older People symposium, the symposium committee and I have invited engaging expert speakers from a broad range of disciplines to share their insights and practical advice on the theme of managing complexity in older people. We aim to provide a stimulating, varied and informative day on topics including

Delivering Realistic Medicine

Managing complexity from the perspectives of primary care and community geriatrics – how to provide an effective, evidence based service

Updates on what is new in medicine for older people presenting with respiratory conditions, heart failure and infectious diseases

Trainee focused session on key lessons learned in complex clinical decision making and successful quality improvement projects - full details on submitting an abstract can be accessed here

Assessing and managing frailty in a range of acute environments – perspectives from emergency medicine, intensive care and surgery & interactive discussion

The symposium is aimed at physician trainees, physicians from all specialties, primary care physicians and multiprofessional colleagues who encounter older people with complex healthcare needs, and deal with the associated challenges and dilemmas. We look forward to your company.
