The Royal College of Physicians' (RCP's) first dedicated trainees conference will offer a multistream programme that will offer both a clinical and non-clinical perspective, and will feature case-based sessions on how to progress in your career.

Programme highlights
Designed by trainees for trainees, the conference will offer:

career-focused sessions
practical ultrasound sessions
front door clinical medicine
future of training for trainees
resilience and burnout
alternative pathways in medicine.

Ultrasound sessions
On the day we will also be offering six 30-minute sessions on the use of ultrasound, taking place at the following times:

Spaces on these sessions can be reserved when booking the conference, but are limited and will be allocated on first-come, first-served basis. Please refer to the conference programme to ensure you book the correct session.

Who should attend?
This conference is open to all trainee doctors from all specialties.

RCP member discounts are available on the conference fee. If you are not a member, find out how you can join the RCP.

Showcase your work
We invite submissions of abstracts to be considered for poster presentation at the conference. We encourage submission of abstracts on the following topics:

improving educational experience
creating a supportive environment
ensuring safe and effective healthcare
Abstracts will be accepted from all health professionals and organisations, including those overseas.

Abstract reviewing
Abstracts will be peer reviewed through a ‘blind’ reviewing process and scored against the following criteria:

abstract quality (there should be clear objectives, design and discussion, and an appropriate conclusion)
scientific merit
clinical relevance.
Authors will be notified of decisions by the beginning of April 2018.

Submitting your abstract
Abstracts should be submitted via email to with the completed submission form.

Submitted abstracts must adhere to the formatting requirements and use the template provided. Abstracts that do not meet the requirements or have not used the template will be automatically rejected.
