The
Health Select Committee has concluded that older people are being let down by fragmented care services and has recommended that the key to joined up services is joined up commissioning.
The Committee has recommended that the Government should place a duty on new clinical commissioning groups and local councils to create a single commissioning process and a single outcomes framework for older people's health, care and housing services.
On 2 July 2012 the BGS is holding a joint conference with ADASS which will focus on commissioning services for older people.
