Members of the British Geriatrics Society are mostly based in hospitals and university hospitals throughout the UK, although there are some who work increasingly in community settings.
In recognition of the increasing devolved structure of government in the United Kingdom, the Society is quite active at Branch or Regional level. There are the National Councils of BGS England, Cymru, Northern Ireland and Wales; and within England, there are several regions, all of which have a Chairman and a Secretary who are invariably consultant geriatricians.
Each Nation and Region runs their own regional meetings and engages with governmental authorities at their own level.
Please visit the page of your region to discover news and activities happening within your region (See BGS Nations/Regions on the main side menu).
