Stroke Medicine - Lead Parent Specialty

E-mail Print PDF

Dr Oliver Corrado, Chair of the Geriatric Medicine SAC has received the following letter from Professor Bill Burr of the JRCPTB:

"Following my letter in May to propose that Geriatric Medicine be nominated as the lead parent specialty of Stroke Medicine, I am pleased to inform you that this has now been confirmed.

This decision is a result of one of the recommendations by the GMC in their approval letter for the Stroke Medicine curriculum to identify a lead specialty from amongst the 7 parent specialties. It is important to note that this decision does not affect the rights of trainees from the other six 'parents' to access training in the sub-specialty".
