RCP - Future Hospital - Development Sites
The RCP Future Hospital Programme works closely with selected development sites to put the principles of the future hospital into practice. We work closely with clinical teams and patients at these sites on discrete projects aligned with the future hospital vision. The lessons learned by each of the development sites will be collated and shared with other partners in the Future Hospital Programme and beyond, to spread good practice.
The first four development sites were NHS trusts recruited across England and Wales in September 2014. The sites featured are: Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, Mid Yorkshire Hospitals, Royal Blackburn Hospital, Worthing Hospital. The first three projects aim specifically to improve the care of frail older patients, and the fourth aims to streamline the care of patients admitted via acute medical admissions services, including frail older patients, by amalgamating several assessment and admission pathways on a single emergency floor of the hospital.
