Dr Laura Kendal

Finance Representative

Finance Committee meetings and National Trainees Council meetings.

Reason for joining the BGS Trainee’s Council
Having undergone an unusual career path to finally become a Specialist Registrar in Geriatrics, I immediately found the BGS to be a warm and welcoming organisation. Every communication with the BGS, whether it be enquiring about membership, joining the virtual conferences or - indeed - considering becoming a trainee representative, has been encouraging. It is an inspiration to be surrounded by people who are so passionate about improving care for older people.

Why trainees should get involved with the committee
We are lucky to have such a diverse and welcoming organisation, providing a common focus for those of us passionate about caring for older people. Being on the committee allows you to have a greater say in the organisation of events, inspiring doctors in training to become geriatricians and most importantly shaping the future of care for older people.
