Re-launched deconditioning campaign and contributed to research and guidance

"During the pandemic, apart from being a frontline medic, Amit worked with the BGS to refresh and re-launch the National Deconditioning Awareness and Prevention campaign, Sit Up, Get Dressed, Keep Moving, to tackle 'pandemic-deconditioning.' He re-purposed his Frailty Academy and provided COVID training to over 1000 staff at short notice. He developed comprehensive ward-round guidance and system-wide rehabilitation pathways which were shared nationally. He was an investigator for vaccine research and also developed videos for NIHR to enhance BAME participation in vaccine research and uptake. He contributed to many national groups on COVID rehabilitation, surge modelling and also co-authored the NICE guidance on Long COVID. "
