Representing BGS members in the devolved nations

National groups

As a member of the British Geriatrics Society, you are automatically a member of your local group. You can choose how to engage with your local group by updating your communication preferences in the Manage your account section of our website.

BGS England

BGS England has the greatest number of members among the four devolved nations of the United Kingdom. It is divided into fourteen regions and each region holds up to two local one-day meetings each year, held in a local hospital or venue within the region. he vacant officers' posts which

BGS Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland has a relatively small number of BGS members compared to the other devolved branches of the Society. The region holds regular local educational meetings and enjoys close collaboration with our Irish colleagues south of the border.

BGS Scotland

BGS Scotland is the professional organisation of doctors who specialise in the medicine of old age in Scotland. The branch has 280 or so members. We welcome suggestions and input from members of BGS Scotland or from representatives of organisations sharing the interests of the Society.

BGS Wales hold twice yearly meetings, rotating between North and South Wales.
