Announcing our Deconditioning Hub

Deconditioning is a major and preventable contributor to loss of independence among older adults. We have created this hub to support our members to improve outcomes for older people through the identification and prevention of deconditioning.

Deconditioning syndrome can be defined as the condition of physical, psychological and functional decline that occurs as a result of complex physiological changes induced by prolonged bed rest and associated loss of muscle strength.

Deconditioning is not an inevitable consequence of ageing - it is preventable and reversible. Read these valuable new resources here
