Did you know BGS conference posters are online and searchable?

Date

When we launched the new BGS website earlier this year, we also updated our online poster platform, integrating it with our main website. The poster platform enables you to view posters presented at BGS events. You can access the platform via the main navigation menu under ‘Events and CPD’ or through https://www.bgs.org.uk/posters.

Why do we have a poster platform?

Our poster platform is here to provide you with a valuable resource of research and quality improvement studies. Looking through the wonderful work of your fellow professionals on our platform, you may well find some inspiration for your own research activities.

What can I do?

The updated version of the poster platform is bigger and better than ever. More posters are uploaded after each conference, and new features have been added to improve your experience. Here’s a look at what you can do:

  • Browse – You can browse posters by conference or search for specific conditions, categories, events, or colleagues. On the new BGS website, you can now search, view, and cite posters, as well as watch videos without logging into the website. This makes finding interesting and relevant information easier.
  • Communicate – You can comment on posters and receive replies from the authors and the wider BGS community. Your questions or insight could help authors develop their research and presentation skills or help you gain a deeper knowledge of their work. While you can access the posters without logging in, you will need to be logged into the BGS website, with a free website account or your existing membership account, to leave comments and receive response notifications.
  • Delve deeply - Each poster has an abstract, a poster to read in detail, and some have short accompanying videos detailing the work and findings.
  • Gain CPD - Personal CPD can be accrued from reading these posters and providing feedback.
  • Gain points – Do you have an upcoming job application? BGS posters are citable with a stable URL, which you can use to add to your portfolio and can be used to demonstrate a commitment to geriatric medicine.

How do I get my poster included on the poster platform?

There are several chances each year to showcase your research at one of our BGS conferences. Find out more about submitting your abstract(s) at our events: www.bgs.org.uk/abstracts
