After studying at Bristol, I did foundation and IMT in South West Wales. I then took a year out of training (which included working in, exploring and one-time lamb vaccine clinic in Orkney!) and am now a speciality registrar in the West of Scotland Deanery.
Role on the Council:
Ensure representation of Scottish trainees within the BGS
Organise meetings for Scottish Trainees
Reason for joining the BGS Trainees Council:
I really enjoy the generalist and holistic nature of Geriatric Medicine, and have been fortunate to have had positive guidance from those within the speciality throughout my training. By being on the Trainees’ Committee, I hope to represent the views of my colleagues in Scotland and offer support where needed to those already within the specialty as well as those hoping to join us in the future.
Why trainees should get involved with the committee:
This committee is a great way to work with others who want to ensure that resident doctors interested in this speciality have their views and experience represented and create change!
Term of office:
Two Years
