Dr Jonathan Hewitt

Having previously been a consultant geriatrician in Portsmouth NHS Trust, and via a year's sabbatical at Glasgow University, Dr Hewitt is now a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Cardiff University and Honorary Consultant Geriatric and General Physician in Aneurin Bevin Health Board. His clinical responsibilities focus on general, Geriatric and stroke care. His research interests are in stroke and surgical epidemiology and the use of large datasets in research. He is also NISCHR research lead in Wales and member of the Research and Development Committee for the BGS. He was previously Vice Chairman of the Ethics and Governance Council of the UK Biobank. He is currently a member of the Ethics, Regulation and Public Involvement Committee of the MRC and the Chairman of the Cardiff School of Medicine Research Ethics
