Nishma Harker
Dr Nishma Harker is a Consultant Geriatrician working at Manchester Royal Infirmary (MFT,) with a strong clinical and academic interest in improving care for older adults with complex medical needs. Their specialist interests include oncogeriatric medicine and surgical liaison, focusing on the optimisation and holistic management of older patients undergoing cancer treatment and surgery.
 
Dr Harker holds a Master’s degree (MSc) in Geriatric Medicine and is actively involved in education and professional development within the field. She serves as the North West Co-Chair of the British Geriatrics Society (BGS) but is also part of the oncogeriatric specialist interest group, contributing to regional leadership, collaboration, and advocacy for high-quality care for older people.
 
Alongside her clinical work, Dr Harker is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Salford, where she supports the training and development of future geriatric trainees in the region. Through her clinical practice, leadership roles, and academic involvement, Dr Harker remains committed to advancing geriatric medicine and promoting multidisciplinary approaches to the care of older adults.
