I'm Rachael Bailey, a Consultant Geriatrician at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, Derbyshire. I have increasingly seen the impact of climate change on our older patients and unprepared workplaces through extreme weather events and air pollution. I believe we can make a positive impact on these issues in our role as health care professionals in advocating for change. To this end I am trying to increase sustainable practices at work, for example initiating a project to return hospital linens following discharge. I am excited to be part of a team with such a positive agenda to make real world impact on such a timely and important issue.
