Members of the BGS Nurses and AHPs Council are invited to vote in the election for the next Chair and Deputy Chair.
One of the aims of the BGS is to improve the quality healthcare of older people. Nurses and therapists are leaders in the multi-disciplinary team which care for frail older people in hospital and in the community. Nurses have long been innovators of new models of care delivery while therapists are key to the rehabilitation and enablement of older people who have undergone crisis. Other allied health professionals make a significant contribution to older people’s health and wellbeing at different stages and in different settings.
The Chair and Deputy Chair of the Nurses and AHPs Council are key leadership roles in the Society representing the interests of nurse and AHP members. Cliff Kilgore completes his two year role as Chair of the Nurses and AHP Council in November 2019, and this member ballot will elect his successor. The Chair of the Nurses and AHP Council serves as a member of the BGS Trustee Board and leads the Nurses and AHP Council. The Chair also sits on a number of other BGS Committees to represent nurse and AHP members.
Please take the opportunity to help shape the future of the Society, and the specialty, by voting in this election for the next Chair and Deputy Chair of the Nurses and AHP Council (2019-21). All votes need to be submitted by midnight on 30 September 2019.
