COVID-19: Research

During the COVID-19 pandemic, various research studies and trials have been launched to help protect older people and improve outcomes from the virus. COVID-19: PROTECT Trial

PROTECT is a UK-wide clinical trial to identify treatments that can protect care home residents from developing COVID-19.

COVID-19: PRINCIPLE trial for older people in the community

18 June 2020

The PRINCIPLE trial aims to find treatments for COVID-19 for older people and stop them needing to go to hospital. The trial is recruiting participants through its website and GP practices across the UK.

COVID-19: COGER Study

26 November 2020

The COGER study is collecting data to gain insight into the course of functional and medical recovery in older people affected by COVID-19 participating in rehabilitation across Europe.
