Sarah joined the BGS in late January 2019 from Bond, the UK network of NGOs working in international development, where she was Director of Programmes and Partnerships. At Bond, Sarah led a series of major capacity development programmes for the NGO sector, funded by the Department for International Development. She led the development of Bond's Strategy 2016-21, its fundraising and partnerships, and delivery of its organisational-strengthening services. She was responsible for coordination of the NGO sector response to the 2018 safeguarding crisis, and led a wide range of cross-cutting policy and practice initiatives, bringing together government, the private sector, funders, academics and civil society, both in the UK and globally. She held previous senior roles at the Big Lottery Fund, VSO and the British Council, with a focus on organisational learning, change and strategy. She is on the board of the Scottish Power Foundation and is a Fellow of the RSA.
