Why attend?

A free service specific/specialist day promoting the best practices in skin health and wound healing.

The changes in the skin that occur as an individual ages affect the integrity of the skin, making it more vulnerable to damage. With a reduced ability to regenerate and a less efficient protective immune system, the elderly are at an increased risk of skin breakdown and so it is vital that care of the older person’s skin is seen as a priority.

This study day will provide relevant and useful information to guide those clinicians or carers who are responsible for the management of skin care in an ageing patient population.

The event can count for up to 5 hours of participatory learning for your NMC Revalidation.

There will be an interactive presentation of wound care products and preventative aids from our industry partners.

Keynote speakers include:

  • Sarah Gardner, Independent Tissue Viability Consultant, Wound Matters

  • Julie Van Onselen, Lecturer Practitioner in Dermatology, Dermatology Education partnership Ltd, SHUK, Check4Cancer, National Eczema Society

  • Dr Karen Ousey, Professor of Skin Integrity Director for the Institute of Skin Integrity & Infection Prevention, University of Huddersfield
