Help to create a supportive and collaborative local environment for fellow healthcare professionals
We're seeking a committed and enthusiastic Co-Chair for the London and the South East region to support and strengthen our regional network. Working jointly with another Co-Chair, you will help coordinate regional activity and act as a visible ambassador for BGS in London and the South East.
Length of term: 2 years
This role is unpaid. We welcome applications from BGS members in all professions providing healthcare for older people.

Responsibilities

BGS region meeting planning support
Estimated time: 6–10 hours every year
Support the BGS with an online region meeting every other year (along with a small planning committee, which you will be tasked to bring together for this purpose). This is similar to how our SIG committees work, giving at least 6 months lead time, preferably 8–12 months. This will also involve reviewing abstract submissions in advance of the event. -
Attendance at the region meeting
Estimated time: 1 day every 2 years (unless holding webinar in alternate year)
You would be required to support the meeting on the day. This will include chairing the day, moderating sessions, along with planning committee and judging poster presentations.
Other duties would be minimal throughout the year, to include:

Attendance at England Council meetings
Estimated time: 2.5 hours every 3–4 months -
Providing a brief update for BGS All Regions quarterly e-bulletin
Estimated time: up to 1 hour every 3 months -
Act as region network link for BGS
Estimated time: 1–2 hours every month
Including: promotion, recruiting new members/ succession planning, generating event attendees and championing the BGS.
