In this webinar we aim to give an introduction to environmentally sustainable healthcare for older people.
We will also be joined by Peter May who will give the perspective on how the national Greener NHS team are helping to decarbonise the NHS.
We know that older people are particularly at risk of the health impacts of climate breakdown. However, healthcare itself accounts for more than 4% of the UK carbon footprint. We will explore where the biggest environmental impacts of geriatric medicine come from. We will then discuss how we can adapt our services to provide high quality, low-carbon care for older people.
We welcome questions from the audience and will have time to answer some of these in the final part of the webinar.
Speakers:
Peter May: Senior Net Zero Delivery Manager, Greener NHS National Programme
