3rd World Falls Congress 2026

BGS is proud to be hosting the WFC in Manchester

This event is intended for clinicians and healthcare professionals working with older people who have undergone a fall, or are at risk of falling. Building upon the past conferences in Malaysia and Australia the two days will include keynote presentations from experts in the field, workshops and plenary sessions demonstrating best practice approaches available. We hope you will make contacts and start collaborations which will continue on from this meeting.

Flexible attendance options & registration fees for 2026:
In person or online

There is no difference in registration fees for in person and online meeting attendance. The registration fee provides access to the conference or online platform for the days you are registered. On demand viewing post event will be limited to the days for which you have registered and paid.

There is a flexible transfer from in person to online attendance as clinical service and life balance require. Please check our FAQs first for any queries you may have about attendance or on demand watching.

Symposia will be scheduled as concurrent sessions in the 2026 World Falls Congress programme. The results of adjudication will be communicated by email to those accepted in January 2026

Speakers need to pay the registration fee for the conference and cover their own travel and accommodation costs. There are no discounts for accepted symposia speakers beyond the stated fees.

Fully Funded Places: In person or online

Members in Category B, C and D are now eligible to apply for a new BGS event grant. This will cover the registration cost for a BGS conference, either virtually or in person. Applications can be submitted from the event registration page, and should be requested and approved before completing registration.

Your organisation can register attendees and pay the registration fee by card only they hold on your behalf (A Proxy registration). Speakers

The policy is that all speakers invited by the organising committee, are extended complimentary registration for the meeting.

Up to 2 night’s accommodation will be provided for those speakers from Europe. For those travelling from outside of Europe accommodation needs will be discussed up to 4 nights

This accommodation must be booked directly by the BGS. Rooms booked directly will not be reimbursed.

The BGS will also cover standard class return travel expenses, using the BGS expense policy. 

Any amendments to this policy need to be requested from the Director of Learning and Professional Development, and agreed in advance. He can be contacted on conferences@bgs.org.uk. All speakers will have access to the online portion of the meeting, and on-demand content as well.

The 2026 World Falls Congress has invited symposia from partner organisations. Speakers for these sessions are extended complimentary registration for the meeting. The partner organisation (IOF/ESCEO, EUGMS, and FFN) are responsible for covering all associated travel and accommodation costs for the speakers and moderators of the symposium.

Organising Committee

The World Falls Congress policy is that all committee are extended complimentary registration for the whole meeting and two nights accommodation, where required. They must cover their own travel costs. 

The policy is that all presenters for submitted and accepted symposia are required to handle costs all relating to accommodation and travel. They are also required to complete registration, at least for the day they are speaking. If they wish to attend any other days of the meeting or the conference dinner the appropriate registration fees are required.
