The BGS Spring Meeting will cover the latest scientific research and the best clinical practice in the care of older people. The challenge of caring for larger numbers of older people both in and out of hospitals is everybody in the NHS's concern. This conference will cover core areas of interest to all responsible for the healthcare of older people.

Flexible attendance options & registration fees for 2026:

In person or online

There is no difference in registration fees for in person and online meeting attendance. The registration fee provides access to the conference or online for the days you are registered. On demand viewing post event will be limited to the days for which you have registered and paid.

There is a flexible transfer from in person to online attendance as clinical service and life balance require. Please check our FAQs first for any queries you may have about attendance or on demand watching.

Calling all undergraduate students

There are fantastic opportunities for a select number of undergraduate medical, nurse or AHP students to attend our conference covering the latest scientific research and to network with doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals delivering the best clinical practice in the care of older people around the country.

We are looking for up to 10 medical, nurse and AHP students to assist in the daily running of the event on a voluntary basis for each day of the three-day meeting. These roles will be of special interest to medical students who are considering or currently pursuing a career in Geriatric Medicine.

Applying

Interested candidates should email registrations@bgs.org.uk with their details including date(s) of availability. You must be UK based, on an undergraduate course on a medical, nursing or AHP course. Post -graduate students (i.e. Masters, Doctoral, or ACP courses) are not eligible.

Responsibilities

The sessions run from 9am until  5.30pm. Responsibilities will include supporting delivery of the sessions, with tasks such as microphone support during Q&A sessions.  We may also need help assisting with registration, greeting and directing attendees to key points.
