The BGS Spring Meeting will cover the latest scientific research and the best clinical practice in the care of older people. The challenge of caring for larger numbers of older people both in and out of hospitals is everybody in the NHS's concern. This conference will cover core areas of interest to all responsible for the healthcare of older people.

Flexible attendance options & registration fees for 2026:

In person or online

There is no difference in registration fees for in person and online meeting attendance. The registration fee provides access to the conference or online for the days you are registered. On demand viewing post event will be limited to the days for which you have registered and paid.

There is a flexible transfer from in person to online attendance as clinical service and life balance require. Please check our FAQs first for any queries you may have about attendance or on demand watching.

Accommodation in recent years has increased in costs and this year keeping costs low is important. Study leave budgets are always under pressure and never seem to go far enough.

Each BGS conference has at least one Symposium opportunity.
 

Stands will be organised in layouts designed to maximise footfall to stands. Catering points, posters, and seating will be included across the exhibition space to better draw attendees.

Calling all undergraduate students

We’re offering up to 10 undergraduate medical, nursing and AHP students the opportunity to attend and support the 2026 Spring Meeting for free. Explore the latest research and connect with professionals delivering outstanding care for older people across the UK.

Volunteers will help with session support (including Q&A microphones), registration, and welcoming delegates. Sessions run 9:00am–5:30pm.

What you’ll gain:

Who can apply?
UK-based undergraduate students in medical, nursing or AHP programmes. Postgraduate students are not eligible.
