The BGS Cardiovascular SIG aims to improve the quality of care for older people with cardiovascular disease, promote the presentation and dissemination of high-quality research, and strengthen links with the British Cardiovascular Society and other medical societies with a cardiac interest.
It also seeks to attract and draw upon expertise from individuals who are not members of the BGS, while providing and coordinating cardiology expertise among Society members. The SIG also facilitates networking between researchers to support large-scale, multicentre studies and provides an informal forum for presenting and discussing clinical work and research.
