Dr Chris Hay

Policy and Communications Representative
Role on the Trainees' Council

To represent Geriatric Trainees on the BGS policy committee to debate and discuss current issues and how to communicate with BGS members and non-members

Meetings

Trainees Council Meetings and Policy Committe meetings (and anywhere else that will have me)

Reason for joining the BGS Trainee’s Council

I joined the committee in this role because of the growing social issues that affect older adults across the UK.  BGS already does a fantastic job but there is always more that we can do and I think trainees are ideally placed to add to the conversation.  I'm looking forward to working with the policy committee on the main current issues, including the cost of living crises.

Why trainees should get involved with the committee

To see what's out there!  To get exposure to the different types of good work that is going on nationwide.
