Reason for joining the BGS Trainees' Council
I have always enjoyed attending BGS events, in order to meet other trainees and to benefit from high quality education from those at the top of their fields. I am looking forward to working alongside like-minded passionate colleagues on the Trainees’ Council to excite and encourage medical students and junior doctors to explore geriatric medicine as a career, particularly within my local Northern Ireland context.

Why trainees should get involved with the committee
As trainees, we have the potential to shape our own teaching and training, but also ultimately to improve the care for older patients, and to advocate for them. Engaging with the committee allows collaborative working across the regions of the UK and the development of stronger links, as well as the giving the opportunity to connect with others who are passionate about delivering high quality care and training.
