At Cardiff we aim to run a practical course on all aspects of physical and social Geriatric Medicine. We provide both part time and full time learning at Certificate, Diploma and Masters Level, depending on the needs of the student.

The course is aimed at a multi-disciplinary and international audience. Previous students include Pharmacists, Social Workers, Occupational and Physical therapists, Nurses, General Practitioners and Doctors specialising in the older person. We very much encourage applications from oversees health care graduates.

In our relaxed and friendly atmosphere we deliver teaching via lectures, tutorials and group working delivered by experienced and committed medical educators. Students are expected to broaden their knowledge of Geriatric medicine, presentation skills, management techniques and multi-disciplinary working.

Our compulsory modules include: Foundations of Geriatric Medicine, Research Methods, Physical and Mental Health and Age, The Organisation and Delivery of Care. 

Students may then choose 2 modules from; Stroke, Bone Health and Falls, Neurodegenerative Disease. Each of the modules can be taken individually as stand alone units.

For students wishing to graduate at Masters level, a dissertation completes the course.
