Welcome words from England Council Chair

In this current uncertain climate, it has become apparent that clinicians need local, regional and national support. The BGS England Council represents the needs of geriatricians within the various regions of England.  Local engagement and activity in the form of regional meetings and collaboration are an essential part of not only maintaining CPD but also support network in times of crises.  The vibrancy and enthusiasm of regions not only feeds into policy making at the BGS but also enables the BGS to assert the views of its members in its interaction with policy makers at the national level and in lobbying politicians to support policies which improve the care of older people.

If you are frustrated by some of the issues at present then you can help make a difference at a regional and national level by volunteering to represent your region at the England Council and ensure that not only your voice but that of your colleagues translated into better care for older people.
