Vacancy: National Specialty Lead for Ageing

The National Insititute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network (CRN) is recruiting to the post of National Specialty Lead for Ageing, following Professor Helen Roberts resignation.

This national role is a 1PA post, so involves an average weekly commitment of 4 hours.

The post-holder will work in NIHR CRN Cluster E with Professor Lynn Rochester the Cluster Lead and the National Specialty Cluster Leads for DeNDRON Dementias and DeNDRON Neurodegenerative Diseases, Neurological Disorders and Genetics.

The Ageing National Specialty Group supports the setup and delivery of clinical research in the NHS in Ageing. The Ageing NSL works with a team of regional specialty leads.

The Cluster office is based in Newcastle upon Tyne and will provide administrative support for the role and travel expenses. In practical terms, the post-holder would participate in Cluster Executive meetings, lead the national specialty group and partake in other national NIHR CRN meetings. The successful applicant will work with the Cluster managerial and admin team (led by Dr Gary Nestor) and the CRN as a whole, but particularly the Medical, Research Delivery and Business Development & Marketing Directorates.
