Regional Officer Vacancy: Secretary
The South East Thames region of the British Geriatrics Society is seeking to appoint a new Secretary and expressions of interest are now invited for this position. The term of office is three years.
The main duty of the BGS Regional Secretary is to help organise regional meetings. This is done in conjunction with BGS Central Office. For example, the Secretary will assist with:
- Advertising regional meetings
- Communicating, via BGS head office, with regional members to keep them informed about the date and venue of local events, programme details, deadlines and abstract submission
- Requesting biographies of speakers and applying for CPD points
- Obtaining registration lists and collating feedback electronically.
BGS Central Office can assist with liaising with pharmaceutical companies to secure sponsorship and arrange payment of invoices for room hire and catering.
