LAST CHANCE: BGS COVID-19 Innovation

The BGS has written to officers of Councils, Committees, SIGs and regions inviting them to submit examples of innovations to the delivery of NHS services in England which were introduced during the COVID pandemic and merit being sustained afterwards. It’s not too late to complete the NHSE/I survey directly or to send the BGS your innovation for possible inclusion in the BGS overall response, using the form that can be downloaded on the sidebar of this page.

Please ensure innovation forms are sent to s [dot] greenbrook [at] bgs [dot] org [dot] uk by midday on 22 June. This does not give you long - but we'd be delighted to receive any innovations you can write up over the next few days.

NHS England and NHS Improvement want to hear from clinicians across the country so that innovations which have improved clinical services during the pandemic can be identified and retained in the longer term.

The Society will be submitting a comprehensive response to showcase new and innovative ways of working that have been rapidly developed by our members across the four nations. Therefore we invite our SIGs, Councils and Groups to identify the top three innovations that you consider are most important for older people and should be scaled up and retained.

These may be examples of:

  • innovations at a particular point in the pathway of care or
  • innovations that enable new ways of working across the whole pathway

(See the image above right).

To help us capture the key messages we invite you to complete the proforma for each of your top three innovations.

Please complete the proforma form which can be downloaded from the right hand side of this page (one idea per form) and return the form to s [dot] greenbrook [at] bgs [dot] org [dot] uk by Monday 22 June.

Please also tell us if there is something that hasn’t been done yet but would make a big difference to care for older people.

Thank you for sharing your learning with your BGS colleagues.
