One of the main goals of the BGS is to support continuing professional development of those specialising and working in healthcare of older people and to influence their training and education. This page offers links to elearning resources from the BGS and other recognised providers.
Our BGS-developed elearning courses are available to both BGS members and non-members and cover key topics relevant to clinicians and their colleagues working with older people.
Our new Frailty Module (updated in 2023) is available free to all users. This includes a CPD certificate on successful completion of the course.
BGS members can access our other modules for free from August 2023, and will obtain a CPD certificate on successful completion (when all modules have been completed, an 80% pass rate for the assessment has been achieved, and course feedback has been submitted).
Non-members can also access the course for a one-off payment of £150 and obtain a CPD certificate on successful completion.
Membership of the BGS is not required to take any of these courses, but if you are not yet a member and wish to join, click here to join the BGS and enjoy free access. Membership is free for medical students, Nurse and AHP students, Foundation Year doctors and preceptorship year Nurses and AHPs.
These elearning courses and modules have not been developed by BGS but may also be useful for those interested in developing their skills and learning in the area of older people's health and care.
